Nandil Biswa Sarma, son of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, impressed everyone with his spectacular performance in the ‘Ironman Vietnam’ competition held in Vietnam on May 10. Despite being a fifth-year student of the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, Nandil successfully crossed the competition target in just 16 hours. For this achievement, he had prepared for 7-8 months of hard work. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared this success on social media on May 14 and proudly wrote, “It is the courage to cross the boundaries and the mentality of not giving up that makes an Iron Man. The competition consisted of 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of marathon – completing all three stages in a single day was not just a sport for Nandil, but an extraordinary test of human will, patience and determination. As a father, Dr. Sarma described this moment as one of immense pride and deep emotion. “His hard work, discipline and mental strength assure me that he will scale new heights in every field of life. Nandil’s victory is not only a matter of family pride but also a source of inspiration for the youth. The Ironman Triathlon is one of the toughest endurance competitions in the world, where participants break their physical and mental limits.
