Ramanagar Land Dispute Reaches Human Rights Commission, Questions Raised Over Police Action

A complaint regarding an alleged land dispute and demolition of a boundary wall in Ramanagar district has reached the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC). The Commission has registered the matter and assigned Diary No. 255/IN/2026.

In his petition to the Commission, complainant Prabhu T alleged that on January 25, 2026, certain individuals demolished the boundary wall of his property and attempted illegal encroachment. The complaint further states that prior information about the situation had been given to the local police; however, no timely or effective action was taken.
The petition alleges failure of the authorities to safeguard life and property under Article 21 of the Constitution of India and seeks an independent and impartial inquiry. The complainant has also sought compensation for the alleged damage and mental distress.
The Commission has acknowledged receipt of the complaint and initiated the process. According to sources, reports may be sought from the concerned district administration and police authorities.
