Chorgarhi Students Appeal to Prime Minister on Social Media for Road Construction – 79 Years After Independence, No Paved Road to the High School
Sidhi, August 16, 2025:
While the nation celebrates its 79th Independence Day, students in the Chorgarhi region of Sidhi district continue to struggle with a lack of basic infrastructure. The road leading to Chorgarhi High School remains unpaved, creating severe difficulties, especially during the monsoon season.
Students have voiced their concerns, stating that the muddy and slippery pathway poses a constant risk of falls and injuries while commuting to school. A heartfelt plea surfaced on social media just a day before Independence Day, where students wrote, “Please construct the road, the mud makes it very difficult; we slip and fall on the way.” The post went viral, bringing the issue back into the spotlight.
According to locals and students, despite repeated assurances over the years, the actual construction work has not begun. The lack of coordination among departments and unresolved disputes are cited as major reasons for the delay.
This raises an important question: why has the administration failed to take decisive action on such a critical issue? Residents and parents demand immediate intervention to ensure a paved road to the high school, emphasizing that access to education should not be compromised due to poor infrastructure.
