Nasik Commissioner and Mayor was honoured DPMF Certificate of Appreciation
What an Honour to DPMF Our Trustees Chandrashekharji and Mrudulaji Dada and Tai was invited by the Nasik Commissioner and Mayor who was honoured with DPMF Certificate of Appreciation oted to Nasik by
Mr and Mrs Chandrashekhar went to NMC Commissioner Ramesh Pawar to thank him thanks as they started renovation at Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial in nasik. This entire credit goes to Tai Mrudulaji from 3 years she was in constant touch for this movement.It was great for the humble Nasik Commissioner who gave 15 minutes time in his busy schedule and met both our trustees.. He also complimented Mrudulatai for her constant follow-up with NMC for renovation of Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial which condition was not at all in good view for tourists visiting it till month back.But now they have started colorfull water fountain and also beauifull water fall .Commissioner also assured that they will do remaining beautification and other after inviting tender for the same. He told he had a word regarding beautification with leading Art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai who may be in future act as Technical Consultant for Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial.
Later they honoured Commissioner Ramesh Pawar by giving DPMF Appreciation Certificate with bouquet sweets really it was memorable occasion!!
Then they visited Nasik Mayor to say thanks and honored him with DPMF Appreciation Certificate
They also visited to see the current status of Ford car which Dadasaheb Phalke used to use for outdoor shoot.This car is lying in Shubham Garage near gurdwara road in Nasik city and it’s in vert bad dtate .This car was sold over period of time to Mr Bhatt who used it as taxi .Afterwards Mr Tapkirey owner of Band purchased it and was using for marriage ” Barat” and car was in great demand since used by Phalke Co. But over period of time this car is kept at Shubham garage and was not repaired And due to wear and tear over the years the condition of car is very bad state.
We will be writing letter on behalf of DPMF appealing Nasik Municipal Commissioner Mr Ramesh Pawar to take over that car and after necessary repairs it can be displayed in Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial in Nasik

Later visited a spot called ” Haudacha Bunglow” which was used as studio by Dadasaheb Phalke from 1914 to 1929 !! After making 1st movie of india ” Raja Harishchandra ” in Mumbai, Dadasaheb shifted his base to Nasik which was climatewise suiting for film making and also had natural beautiful backround like river jungle temple ideal for out door shoot of mythological movies! DADASAHEB hired this bungalow and he used it for Phalke Co and Hindustan Film Co movies till year 1929 This ” Haudacha Bungalow” that time had become Nasik attraction .It had a big water reservoir out side and water was brought from Godavari river by pipe line .Hence this was called as ” Haudacha Bungalow ” because of this ! In Marathi we call ” Haud” for water reservoir! After period of time Dadasaheb left that bunglow and Mr Kokaney purchased it since then Now thier 3rd generation stays their and great part is they have still preserved some part of it .This was two storied bungalow and current owner has kept two floors as no changes done to any part of it and leaving it vacant .They now using only ground floor for staying .
Mr Kokani owner says that they have proud feelings that they are staying in place used by Dadasaheb Phalke for shooting purpose! I
The two floors used by Dadasaheb Phalke has kept in same condition since last 108 years ! They get lot of offers but they won’t sell an archivable place Now thru DPMF we will appeal to government to look in to this and take over that place.
