SSB Inter-Frontier Badminton Cluster Competition commence from 25 November 2025
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Inter-Frontier Badminton Cluster tournament being organized by Frontier Guwahati from 25 to 28 November 2025 at Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Kamarkuchi, Guwahati (Assam). The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Sudhir Verma, Inspector General, SSB, Guwahati Frontier alongwith gracious presence of Dr. ShankarJyoti Basmatari, DEAN, LNIPE.
Total 8 teams which include team of the Force Headquarters, New Delhi all 6 Frontiers viz. Ranikhet, Lucknow, Patna, Siliguri, Guwahati, Tezpur as well as Training Centres are participating in the tournament. 149 players of all ranks will compete in Singles, Doubles (Men and Women and Mixed) in 6 different categories. The tournament conducted every year at different places as per direction of Force Headquarters. The objective of the tournament is to improve physical endurance, sportsmanship and team spirit among the Force personnel. The players selected during this tournament will represent SSB in next All India Police Duty Meet
(AIPDM). On the occasion, Inspector General, Frontier Guwahati, Shri Sudhir Verma welcomed all players, guests and said that the event will pivotal in maintaining discipline and team spirit in the Force. Shri Verma in his speech highlighted the achievements of SSB in sports and said that the Force has won 164 medals in National Games, 43 medals in International Games and 200 medals in Police Games in the year 2025.
Smt. Rani Anuradha, Regional President, Sandiksha alongwith Sandiksha members also graced the occasion and encouraged the players.
During the programme, Shri H. B. K. Singh, Deputy Inspector General (Admn), Shri Neeraj Chand, Deputy Inspector General (Ops), Dr. Mamta Agrawal, Deputy Inspector General (Medical), Senior Officers from Central Armed Police Forces, local administration, and SSB personnel were also present.
