AIRA NEWS NETWORK – We are shocked by what we have seen, as reports of properties and lives lost come over the airwaves. Looking at the situation, the suffering of the people will be unimaginable. The truth is, –we really don’t know what the future holds. Invasion launched by the Forces of Russia against the sovereign nation of Ukraine raises the specter of war on a full scale. We’ve not seen much since the end of World War II, –in the history of Europe.
The escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and the imminent prospect of an armed conflict pose a big threat to humanity.
War, –is not a good option for resolving disputes among nations and peoples.
Ukraine has lost control of a key Military airport situated less than 20miles from the center of Kyiv, –and peaceful cities of Ukraine are under strikes. We’re worried about the tragic consequences, –and devastating impact war in Europe, by all accounts would lead to on civilian populations in the region and on humanity as a whole especially, as the world is still reeling from the global pandemic, –and as the Commission for Humanity, we are gravely concerned.
The time to act is now but, we must not do so in aggression or with violence. Aggressive response and sanctions such a time as this may escalate the situation even to a worse extent or degree. It’s like pouring fuel into a fire outbreak.
It’s time to make peace the cornerstone of politics, –and global goals. Humanity first, should be our global mission.
It’s time we transcend national or political differences, –and actively engage in peace-building projects to advance humanity through the promotion of goodwill and marshaling assistance for the victims of war and violence.
It doesn’t matter whether we consider being present or not. Many of us across the globe are on the front lines. With utmost resolve, resilience –and continuous efforts, we will contribute to a peaceful solution to this crisis. Our concerns, –thoughts, hearts, and prayers are to the people of Ukraine.
WHC, –join the international community in calling for de-escalation and strongly support urgent and robust diplomatic efforts to resolve this conflict through dialogue.
